hi guys,
I am system administrator.
I need to monitor all our employees in our company through network without their knowledge. And i need to solve all their problems in remote only.

is there any open source software to do this? ( similar to LAN EMPLOYEE MONITORING SOFTWARE but this software is not a open source.)

my company network specification:

1. we have a domain server.
2.In employee's side they are using windows 7 and some using windows xp.
3.fortigate 40c firewall.
4.we have 50 employees.

Solution
Here is a FANTASTIC software for this, its very discrete and i just started using it around the office to help people with computer problems so i do not have to leave the lab.

This is not a cheap solution or open source though. I enjoy the software alot, here is a "lengthy" video on some stuff you can do with it. Make sure you skip around the video as its a tad long.

It depends what you mean monitor. There are lots and lots of logging you can do on a domain server. You can also force group policies into the machines so they also log things. I will defer to some of the server experts on this forum if that is your goal.

If you want to monitor network traffic your fortigate likely has a number of options. Its been a bit since I used fortigate but they used to have their own version of netflow called sflow. You need a server to accept the output and generate the reports. You likely can also just use the simple port mirror method and use a tool like wireshark to capture the data and generate reports.

Forigate also have a good content filter option that provides logs of sites users are accessing if that is what you are looking for.

There are lots of devices used for monitoring web traffic, email, spam and things, I don't know about any open source. Just be careful when you start talking about monitoring "all our employees in our company through network without their knowledge". You need to run this through legal. Most companies I have worked for monitor computer use, but it is known that it is monitored, and every user signs that they are aware that there usage is logged. It may be illegal(in your State) to do what you want without informing employees.
