I'm getting really high temps off of my CPU of 59 c(CPU TIN) when stress testing with Prime 95 when the max safe temp is 62 c.

CPU: AMD FX 6300 Six Core(Lowered to 4 cores) 3.5ghz
Cooler: Stock Cooler
Thermal Paste: 2/3 week fresh Arctic Silver 5

Airflow in my case is fine, is there anything I should do to solve this problem? Underclock? Or is the CPUTIN Reading wrong? when I monitor in bios at startup I have a 36c idle.

Solution
Prime95 pushes your cores as hard as possible, you would be hard pressed to find a situation while gaming that will push all cores at 100% constantly for extended periods of time.
Prime95 presents a worst case scenario which you wont encounter normally, if at all.

I think with AMD you should use Overdrive instead of prime95 (i could be wrong not an AMD guy). However at 100% usage on each core, i think those temps are ok. Anyone else confirm this?

Also what is your current Overclock? what frequencies is that chip running at?

I'm running everything at stock expect I disabled 2 cores to maybe lower temps, with no success.

That is kind of a normal temp when running Prime95, especially with the stock cooler.
It will never run that hot under normal use. Does it stabilize at that temp for say, a half hour?
If you get low 50's C under normal use, you are fine I would think.

BF3 Ultra settings and skype and stuff I run 53-54 c.

I enabled all cores again and lowered the clock speed 3ghz, and CPUTIN hit 62 c. Should I be looking at CPUTIN or the Proccessor package temp on HWMonitor?

Download Coretemp IMO. But your prior temps were fine man. dont stress. Just go get yourself a better cooler. Stock coolers are garbage. I would reset it to Stock settings get a new cooler and call it a day.

coretemp gives me the same temps as HWmonitor (CPU Package one, the lower one) I would go and buy a aftermarket cooler if my case could accomodate one, I don't think my case could hold most aftermarket coolers, atleast the ones worth investing in. heatsink will probably be against the side.

The maximum safe temperature to run any FX-series processor at is 61C, so the standard air cooler that comes with the retail processors is more than enough to keep it cool.
