I am using a site called PC Partpicker to save a build I have been putting together. It has been about a week since I last worked on the build but today when I logged in I noticed something I had not seen before. There was in incompatibility warning at the top and when I clicked on it, it showed the following:
Potential Issues/Incompatibilities
Crucial M550 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive and Cooler Master HAF X ATX Full Tower Case are not compatible.
The motherboard M.2 slot #0 shares bandwidth with a SATA Express port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA Express port is disabled.
I was hoping someone could explain what they are referring to. Here is a link to my build:
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/johnstac/saved/VrqBD3
Any help would be appreciated. I have no idea what a hard disk slot would have to do with the case. I'm not sure that it matters anyway because this case is being changed to the following:
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/18254/cst-1359/LD_Coo...
I am planning on running two separate cooling lines and the Haf X would not accommodate both so I will be making the change. Still, I wondered why it was flagged to begin with. Thanks

Crucial M550 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State DriveDid you really need the M2 variety SSD?
I did not intend to choose this as the right answer. Only meant to respond that no I did not need the M.2 variety. I wanted this variety and I will second the question that Snipergod87 pointed out. What does selecting an M.2 SSD have to do with with an incompatibility with a regular SATA ports. What item on my list uses a PCI Express port? Where is the incompatibility?

I posted the issue on the forums at PCPartPicker and got the following response:
"That's a bug - it shouldn't be counting the M.2 slot against the case. I'll get that fixed up.
For the SATA Express - what it means is that on the motherboard there are lanes connected to one of the SATA Express ports and the M.2 slot. If you use the M.2 slot, those lanes are dedicated to it and the SATA Express port is not usable. However, if you wanted to use the SATA Express port (of which there currently aren't any SATA Express drives listed), you'd have to remove the M.2 card.
We put that in there just so that people knew they couldn't use both at the same time. Every motherboard has different quirks with the M.2 slot - some make it disable SLI, others eSATA. It's a mess. But the warning you're seeing is just a note so you know that in the future that port won't be available for you to use if you have the M.2 drive installed."
I replied that they should use another method to point this out as it makes it appear as though there is a problem when there really is not. With that in mind, I would have chosen Snipergods response as the correct answer. Thanks.
