After my last post of asking what was the best cooler for a LGA1155 CPU since the fan on Arctic freezer 7 pro had failed, I thought about asking arctic for a replacement fan. Although the cooler apparently has a 6 warranty on it, arctic weren't interested and sent me this (fan) link. It is cheap for the fan however the delivery is close to 12 euros, making it close to the price of a new cooler. I then found this (fan) which is very similar to the one I have now, although the fixing bracket is different. I was wondering if it would be possible to just swap the bracket over from the old broken fan which has clips on it to to the new fan?

I use an arctic freezer 7 pro rev 2.. I doubt you'd be able to get that bracket onto the heatsink without those clips on the side.. you could try taping it to the heatsink though, i've seen many people do that

Just realized that this has double posted. Internet went off when I posted it if an moderator could delete one of these topics please. How hard do you think it would be to get the fans off of there brackets?

why not find out by pulling the fan out of the faulty fan bracket? if its easy to put back in then you can buy the new one and install it easily
