Low HDD speed

Solution
Yea, that's called burst reads and writes, it is what the buffer is used for. The HDD is working fine, but it's not exactly helping when you transfer across the same drive, that you just partitioned. The 210 MB/s is not a constant transfer rate of that HDD, I just told you. It's peak performance from buffer and continuous file and will only last a few seconds. If you transferred from one PHYSICAL HDD to another, you might see 80-100MB/s, that is IF the other HDD is fast enough to write that fast.

Well aren't you a nice person to have a conversation with.

"Yeah thanks buddy."

What do you think happens when one needle has to move back and forth to first read and then write? Does it cut the performance in half or double it?
