Hi guys, I have a a6 dual core cpu, gtx 650 and 6gb of ram.I'm thinking of upgrade to an a10-5800k and 8gb of ram. Can i run games like crysis 3 or bf4 on max or high?

No, you will need at least a quad core CPU and probably a $200ish dollar GPU to run those games on high/med mixed settings. An APU won't help you with gaming at all if you have a GPU. Look into getting a CPU that can fit your mobo that isn't an APU.

Example combo for high/med mix BF4:

AMD Quad Core 750k Oc'd 300-400 mhz
AMD 7870 or R9 270x

With mantle, you should be able to get high with BF4 at least.

Upgrade only the cpu to a 760k and leave the 650 for now

Absolutely not, For crysis I would expect 20 FPS On medium at 720p, And for battlefield i would say 30 FPS On medium at 768p

You can get the 760k without the need for a motherboard upgrade and you'll take advantage of that 650 that has plenty of juice left.
