Building a 4930k rig for a friend. He wants 2133 mhz ram for video editing,3d design and other professional work.the ram i want to use are gskill trident x's.But they are 1.6 volt ram.Is it safe to use 1.6 volt ram with 4930k cpu?he is probably gonna use the rig for 4-6 years

Solution
Yes the the 1.5 recommendation is for the CPU with default 1600 DRAM at JEDEC base specs, high performance DRAM is perfectly fine up through 1.65 which is about the max you wany to run...Intel even certies 16 -1.65 sticks. The Tridents will be perfectly fine, been using them as my primary sticks for both client and personal builds for over two years now
