FireTV 3rd party audio

With the amazon fire tv which i have bought i connected my usb headphone adapter to it hoping to be able to use headphones but i cant, and now i have a fire tv connected to my pc monitor without any sound.
Can i use headphones with this device(if so how)?
Can i use bluetooth speakers(if so how)?
I also do not have a tv

Sounds like something you should have checked into before buying it considering you are wanting to hook up the TV device to something that is not a TV.

The reason it does not work is because the FireTV does not recognize your headphones on the USB port. Just becasue a device that is not a computer has a usb port does not mean it will accept any usb device out there. Since the FireTV is not a computer, it has a minimum list of devices it has the drivers for and no ability to add more drivers (outside of amazon embeding it into a firmware update) . Thus your headphones that did not work on a windows PC until you installed the drivers is not going to work on the FireTV.

What you will end up needing is a hdmi conveter box that will seperate out the audio for you, then you can connect to any rca or 3.5mm audio speakers/headset.
