Hi all,

New build here, just installed a MSI GTX 760 to replace an old Radeon card. Installation went fine, and drivers installed correctly. After playing a game for roughly 10 minutes in, the PC froze with a horrendous noise coming from the speakers with green lines on the display. I turned the PC off, and the PC failed to reboot. I had a look inside and the fans are running like crazy (very fast RPM) but the monitor display isn't detecting it.

I reinstalled my old graphics card and it's working fine, so I'm pretty convinced the card is fried. I'm going to have to RMA the thing I guess, but am concerned it might be my rig that has done this rather than it be genuinely bad luck.. is there any reasons this could occur?

Thanks

Yep, it sounds like that GPU had a faulty circuit system and overloaded.
Total grounds for an RMA.

Ah that's reassuring, so it's not anything that can be caused in the tower?

I doubt it.
Since your computer works fine with the old card, I assume nothing else was damaged (noticeably)
