I've heard you need to flash your bios, also heard that didn't work, any thoughts?
if your board ships with a bios under f4 your screwed unless you got a supported chip for the bios it came with to boot to flash it up to f4 for that 4820

GA-X79-UP4 (rev. 1.1) at least make sure you get the rev.1.1 and not rev.1.0 and i dont think you will have a problem! most probably this rev.1.1 surfaced to deal with these compatability issues with the newer cpu!
