I have a fast and powerful computer which is less than 1 year old. I recently had the Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Tugspay.A malware virus which I found with Microsoft security essentials. When I looked at Google it said the virus can alter crucial files and can slow down the computer. I removed the virus with security essentials but I'm worried if the virus could of left damage to my computer and it's speed. Is it possible the virus could of damaged my computer, it's files or it's overclock and how do I check?

I'm not smart with computers so I am asking if it could of left damage because I don't want damage on my new computer.

The anti malware software i use is superantispyware. It works and gets the job done the only real way to make sure your computer isn't infected anymore other than a clean install is, going into safemode booting up the software their to make sure everything is wiped clean. A word of advice, the best defense against malware, trojans is simple. Think before you download. Chances are if it sounds to good to be true it is. Cross reference what you download before hand. Especially if you get some magic add that says you need to update blah blah blah or need this plugin you don't it's not worth it.
