Hi I was wondering which keyboard switch type would suit me. I was first looking at the Blue's which would be my choice, except ATM I'm only in high school and I don't want to bother my parents when I'm playing late at night. But I still want to hear the "click" what switch should I get? I'm thinking of getting a CM quickfire keyboard

Solution
if the keyboard is for typing only or typing + gaming then you want either blues or browns. if it is for gaming only then many prefer blacks, reds or clears.

if you want an audible click... you absolutely need blues. they arent so loud as to wake someone up in another room but they are certainly a bit higher pitched then most keyboards. if you want something similar but not the sound then you can try browns.

we are talking about cherry blues here not ibm buckling spring switches..... and that statement would even be a bit excessive for those.

unless your parents have freakish unnaturaly good hearing you should be fine. provided of course the keyboard is not right up against the wall and their head is on the other side of said wall in which case you might hear a little. also provided that you do not pound on your keys like a gorilla.

you can use rubber o-rings under the keys if you want to dampen the sound just a bit or you could eliminate the sound but still have the tactile bump with browns. your choice.
