My specs:AMD FX 8350 8 core vishira black ed (4.0 Ghz)
Nvidia GTX 660 Superclocked Ed
1 TB WD Black edition HDD
460W Cooler Master PSU
Asus M5A97 2.0 MOBO
8 GB corsair Vengeance Ram 2 dimm (4GB+4GB) 1600 MhZ

So I put this PC together (first build) had an issue getting a display from the GPU, finally gave in and paid $50 to have Frys (local electronics store) reassemble and get it working. However they got the display to show and the system to POST, but every time I go into the BIOS it lets me move the mouse for about a second then it freezes/locks up. They said my issue was there was a small amount of thermal paste on the cpu prongs, they luckily got it off and said it would be fine. I also jumped the HDD and installed Windows through a friend's PC, Worked no hiccups what so ever, but then I tried to boot Windows from my build and I get a flashing underscore in the goer left corner of my screen, with no Windows boot.... Please if anyone could help me, I'm on the verge of giving up.

Thank you.

Hi,

What mobo do you have??? and I`ve had a quick look for the minimum psu wattage for a fx8350 and could not find anything about it but I shore I read that it is about 550w and your PSU is only rated at 18amps on the 12v rail and the minimum spec for you GPU is 24amps on a 12v rail. Just because a PSU has wrote on it 850w does not mean it actually puts out that amount. Cooler master PSU`s are not rated that highly you should be looking for something like a seasonic on a corsair or xfx and some off their are not great. post back if you have any more ????

on you mobo there is a place to connect a 5v case speaker if you or you friend have one on another pc it might be worth attaching it to your mobo and see if when you try to start that the mobo is reporting back a failure with beebs.

Attached speaker, got a single beep followed by the splash screen. When I disconnect ram I get error beeps.... I'm lost NOW. If not hardware... Also I jumped the BIOS to reset it.... Also have Removed CMOS battery and no result either....
