PC specs:
EVGA 500B 600W Bronze Certified powersupply
2x4GB DDR3 RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428
AMD FX 6300
1 AMD Sapphire HD 7850 w/ 2 GB of video RAM
1TB Hard Drive (SeaGate Barracuda)
msi 970A-G46 motherboard with the correct cpu socket

so i built my pc a couple months ago with a 480W power supply, and it kept on freezing after short periods of time and the only way to unfreeze was a manual shutdown, upon noticing it, i tested my ram, video card, and even ran my pc with the case open and a giant fan on it to prevent overheating of any sort. still none of this fixed the problem so i began messing around in the windows 8 settings, and found that my pc works fine with the power settings of power saver (which noticeably lowered my performance), but as soon as i set it on balanced or high performance, it does it still. Getting tired of the performance, i just bought my new powersupply to find that it still did not fix the problem!!!
Please help, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

The MSI 970A g46 is known for problems throttling under high load. Since all your other components seem to be in order i suggest the following:

0. Remove any overclock to the system if the freeze still happens read on
1. Do a memtest86 to test the memory. If that passes go to step 2
2. Run furmark for about 5 - 10 minutes. if that passes go to 3 - at this point its most likely the motherboard
3. Run prime95 for at least one hour. Now if this fails its the motherboard or cpu but since cpu's don't usually fail (its very unlikely that the cpu just failed without external factors) its 99% a bad motherboard and i suggest you change it for something like this

i dont have a flashdrive, or a disc, and my motherboard has also passed, and i tested my RAM by using one at a time and the problem still persisted... it only happens while my pc is set to any setting other than power saver on windows 8
