LGA1155 sockets are designed for Ivy Bridge processors or any 3rd Gen Intel Cord Peocessors, whereas the LGA1150 sockets are designed for Haswell processors or any 4th Gen Intel Core Processors.

The LGA1150 is the latest form of socket by Intel. So any 4th Gen Intel Core Processors will fit into these.

Hope this helps you with a better understanding.

The 1150 is the current and near future socket for the latest processors from Intel.
Of course there is the 2011, but that is purely enthusiast.
