my specs:
r9 270x oc 1100mhz and mem clock 1400mhz
amd fx 4300 oc 4.4ghz
8gb ram
biostar ta970 mobo
1tb hdd with windows 8.1

i want to upgrade and i was thinking on buying a core i5 4590 or buying another r9 270x to run crossfire if i decide on buying the r9 270x because of its actual price i could also get an amd fx 6300, but, do all newer games like bf4, bf3, metro last light, crysis 3 etc support crossfire? if so, would i see a huge fps boost? because i personally prefer to buy the i5 and later on upgrade to an r9 280x or gtx 770 but if i can get better performance using crossfire then thats what i will be going for, and lastly, would the amd fx 6300 bottleneck? help me please

I wouldn't recommend crossfire with your setup. You would need an adequate 750W psu. Your motherboard isn't good for crossfire. You would get a larger fps boost for upgrading your gpu but your FX 4300 will bottleneck your card. You will still get a fps increase. If you know that you will upgrade your cpu, i would say go for a R9 280X/GTX 770

I would rather upgrade the CPU and then overclock the 270x a bit more.

+suztera is right i've been researching and seems like biostar mobs arent very reliable for things like overclocking or crossfire besides its a 4+1 board i think will do as Mounty said get a core i5 and see how far i can oc my r9 270x
