Selecting a Graphics Card

I am fairly new to computer builds and am having trouble selecting a graphics card to work with my Asus P8Z77-V PRO motherboard and i7 -3770 Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz processor. I would like to hear some suggestions about what graphics card is recommended.

I am building this primarily for gaming and would like to be able to run most recent games on high settings. I am open to high and low prices but would obviously like to save some money.

What is the size of your monitor(s)
Resolution I mean, so we can scale down the price a bit if we need to, and keep that high performance.

Start with your budget. Then get the best you can for that.

gtx750ti $150. GTX780Ti $700

as far as the monitor goes I probably wont go past 1080p for resolution

Then you'd want a 760-770.
Very good cards, will max out almost everything at 1080p
Only 300-400 bucks.

I'm sure he means to pay anything really, as long as it's performance/price reasonable to his desires, which is games on high settings at 1080p.

I dont really want to spend over $1000 but will push a little farther if necessary.

thats for the whole build. so I would definitely like to keep the graphics card under 300 if possible
