Ever since I connected a HDMI-VGA adapter to my graphics cards, I've been suffering from random audio distortions and video playback sometimes becomes choppy. When the video becomes choppy, my desktop also slows down and becomes choppy as well.

It is because of the adapter. You see HDMI is faster and digital while the VGA is analog and a little slower. It will happen. Or it could be that conversion rate of the adapter is not fast enough but that is unlikely, could tell me the adapter name?

Well the audio and video distortions are no longer happening anymore. I only connected the adapter to my PC to see if it worked on a second monitor I was trying to connect and then removed it after it didn't work. Here's a link to the adapter http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-HDMI-Male-to-SVGA-VGA-M-Converter-A-V-Cable-Lead-GOLD-PLATED/171060758730?_trksid=p5197.c100068.m2280&_trkparms=aid%3D333008%26algo%3DRIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140211125758%26meid%3D8814035193574556446%26pid%3D100068%26prg%3D20140211125758%26rkt%3D3%26clkid%3D8814038047774223656&_qi=RTM1851812
