So I purchased a new computer but it had a weaker graphics card than my previous one so I am trying to switch it out. I am going from a gtx 640 to a gtx 660. When we put the gtx 660 we get no display. We unistalled the 640 graphics driver. The 660 is on and powered because the fan on the card is spinning. Let me know if I am missing something here.

Just a dumb answer, but sometimes those end up being the right ones. Can you just verify that the card is entirely properly seated? i've had a card spin up for me and not display anything, and then when I re-seated it it worked fine.

Yes we have taken it in and out multiple times. Press down hard and it clicks in.

OK dumb question round two- does the 660 require any alternative power like a direct connect from the PSU, and if so, is that seated and everything? I know my 650Ti requires its own connection- the slot alone will power the fans but it won't light without that aux power- is that a requirement on the 660?

Yes we have a direct connection to the psu. Only one power slot on the top of the card, we have been using a p11 cable.

Hmm. i'm honestly surprised you're not getting at least something. Hope you didnt' get a bad card. Sorry for asking the dumber questions, just those have both gotten me in the past so I figured it was worth a shot.
