I would like to run two speaker wires through a wall about 15 feet to my amplifier from my computer. Can I connect them from the microplug on the back of the stereo (left and right channel only) then to the amp via rca plugs using the speaker wire? Is there an easier solution?

Hello... Any connection to a AMP input will need a shielded cable or you will get the 60HZ hum/interference.
I use shielded 1/8" stereo male to RCA males cables.
Here's a inexpensive 25ft model/example if ya can do EBAY B ) http://www.ebay.com/itm/25Ft-3-5mm-Mini-Plug-to-2-RCA-M...
