I have instances where I need to pack my computer up and take it to another house and use it. At one house I have a small TFT 1280x1024 monitor and at house 2 I have a 32in Coby 720p flatscreen TV. When I unhook my PC and then hook it up on the other screen, and I try to use my windows media player, for music or videos, it does not respond, it may play a piece of media if it wants but will not respond. To make it close out I must end process in TaskManager, but still the process is still showing up. Another thing is placing, deleting, moving, renaming icons is not responsive. If I make a change I must refresh the desktop to see the change. Next when I hit shutdown, it just sits there and spins in the shutdown screen but will not shutdown. I then have to hard reset and still no fix. After about 20 shutdowns or so it might work and be alright until I either shutdown the computer or change what screen I use. Also I mentioned that it happens when I switch screens, that is not always true it may happen on the same screen after I shut it down. I ran multiple virus scans and 100% clean. I am pretty sure it is a Windows 7 glitch. I use Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

Solution
It's a problem with your software likely though it may also be a failing hard drive.

Other than reinstalling Windows, drivers etc it's hard for me to help you much from here.

I use K-Lite Standard for media.
