Hey guys, ive had a fan controller for a while now and have just recently discovered that my case fans are 2 pin fans in a 3 pin casing (3 holes for connector but only contain black and red wire) the controller needs all three to read them properly. Id hate to buy new fans and waste money since these fans are fine what i need is a 2 pin to 3 pin converter to work in the controller if they exist. If anyone has any leads or knows of a such a thing please send me a link to it.

Thanks!

How handy are you with soldering? Converting a 2pin to 3pin would require accessing the fan motor PCB, finding the tachometer (Hall sensor) contact IF your fan has one and soldering a lead, then crimping a pin to the other end and adding it to the fan connector. Again, assuming your fan has a Hall sensor, it can be done - the question is whether it's worth doing.

I have no experience in soldering and wouldn't trust myself to do it, i figured it would end it that but was hopeful there was anotehr way. Thank you for your reply though!

Well, if you're going to replace them anyway, you might as well give it a whack. The worst thing that happens is you screw up fans that you're replacing anyway - the best thing would be learning a new technical skill (soldering) and modding skill.
