Hi, I just upgraded my HDD to an SSD and did a clean install of windows 8 onto the ssd. Everything works perfectly and the speed difference is amazing but the only issue is when I put the pc to sleep mode and wake it back up it crashes 10/10 times. This didn't use to happen on my HDD this problem started to occur on the SSD. I have already updated my bios to the latest version. My specs are in sig. I already did a google search and tried some of the troubleshooting guides but nothing helped. Any Suggestions?

This is the SSD I have.

Thanks :).

When I installed the OS on the SSD the HDD or no other drive was in there. I think what may have caused the problem was after the install finish I put the pc to sleep and put the hdd back in there and started back up.

When the HDD is not in it I am able to pass the lock screen but as soon as I sign in it crashes, I can't click anything and then it goes into a blue screen and says your pc has a problem and it says it will collect some crash info and automatically restart and as soon as it restarts it works fine. The error message during this blue screen is "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED". The HDD no longer has the OS on it, I reformatted it into NTFS and it is completely blank.

I just tried. I entered safe mode. Then opened cmd and wrote checkdisk/r and I also tried it with a space "checkdisk /r". Says the command doesn't exist. I also tried it running cmd as admin. After that I wanted to make sure cmd was working properly in safe mode so I wrote a command I am familiar with which was net user and it worked so not sure what went wrong.

Thanks :).

I did the checkdisk thing in safe mode. This is what I ran "chkdsk C: /f /r /x". It said the disk was being used but that I could set it to run on next system restart so I did that and it found no issues. Whenever the scan finished it restarted and windows gave an error message saying windows did not load correctly and it prompted me to either restart again or go advanced options so I restarted again and it started fine. I would hate to have to reinstall windows again because I already have so much software and stuff but I will do it if needed. I am going to reinstall windows now. I will update this thread as to what happens.

Thanks for the help :).

I reinstalled windows 8 and first thing I did when I booted into the os was check for the sleep button and I saw it wasnt there. So I proceeded to install my gpu drivers and after I did the sleep button was there. I tried it and experienced the same crash. Now I know that my gpu drivers are the problem. I did install the newest stable driver which I believe was 340.52. On my HDD I had the one before that version so I am going to try that and see if it works. I will update when I am done.

I did the cmos reset. It didn't help. This issue started before I updated my bios. I updated my bios hoping it would help. I have windows 8 enterprise installed. I will try installing pro and see if it helps. At least I know it's a gpu driver issue.

This will be the 3rd time I am reinstalling windows 8 today. Only difference will be that I am doing 8 pro instead of 8 enterprise. And I will obviously be using a different installation disc. I will update when I finish installing and see if the issue is fixed.

You getting dump file/error messages?

They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers)
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

Download HWInfo and run Sensors. Post the results - usually 3 screenshots in TinyPic or similar.

No dump files that I could find. I looked here "C:\Windows\Minidump". It was empty.

This is what I got.

I use to have it oc'd to 5ghz but not anymore. I put it to default when I was going to install windows on the ssd for the first time. I have 8gb of ram not 18. The cpu's voltage is set to whatever default is in bios. When I look at the voltage in aida64 it is jumping anywhere from 1v to 1.256v.
