Does anyone think Haswell-E 5820k is gonna be a good upgrade?

I am an avid video editor and I love to game as well and am looking for a better CPU and Mobo for my main rig. Currently I have the Gigabyte 970-a-ud3 Mobo and the FX 8150 that I have overclocked to 4.5GHZ. On the video encoding/editing side of things this CPU is kinda slow even though it has "8 cores/threads". I use to edit all my video with my Mac which has a i5 2.6GHZ Dual Core Hyperthreaded CPU and truth be told is just as fast or at least within the margin of error as fast as my overclocked 8150. I fell for AMD's "8 core" branding and thought that maybe 8 threads would help my video editing over the 4 threaded i5 and I was wrong.

Now I am looking for a really good cpu for video editing and have been watching intel. It seems that now they are offering the lowest end Extreme CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads. I know the price tag is going to be around 425$ or so and than an X99 Chipset Mobo is gonna run me prob between 200$ and 300$ for a low to mid range one.

My real question is will getting the 5820k 6core be that much better in video editing than lets say a overclocked i5 or i7 4690k/4790k? Also I do have an nvidea 780 and a video editing program that supports cuda so my video card does the cuda processing.

Solution
The i7 5820k will perform better than the i7 4770k/4790k if the program can use more than 8 threads at any one time, if it can't then you won't see much of a difference except in you bank balance...
