I am looking to buy a seperate graphics card than what is installed on the motherboard, according to the specs of my computer's mother board, there is 3 pci slots and 1 8X agp slot. Do I really NEED to get an agp card or can I get something that would fit in the pci slot ?

Also, I heard agp and pci-e cards are similar in the way they look, would a pci-e card work in the agp slot ?

None of the stores like future shop, best buy, staples, etc, sell agp cards anymore that I can see and I don't trust buying one off ebay cause I don't trust it won't arrive broken.

Please help

My processor is a AMD Athlon 64 processor 3400+ 2.40GHZ
memory is 2gb (although for some odd reason its showing as 1.94gb
and I'm running a 32bit version of windows 7

Most people (including me) would tell you straight up to just build a whole new PC with a new motherboard, CPU, RAM, etc. so you can not only use a modern video card but also play modern games (if that is what you do). But, if you are hell bent on getting the most out of the parts you have, then the only choice really is AGP. They do make 'legacy' PCI video cards but they are rare and are usually much more expensive than a much better and faster AGP card. In all honesty, it isn't worth putting a dime into a PC that still has AGP.
