I have recently installed a new graphics card the Sapphire Radeon HD7770 FLEX EDITION 1GB GDDR5. My previous graphic card was a NVIDIA GT545 which was installed by dell when I got my computer. Now since installing the new graphics card even though my computer works fine on few occassions when watching youtube videos my computer screen goes black and freezes, the same when surfing the internet and logging onto website that have videos my screen crashes computer turns off restarts etc but no BSOD. My computer is a DELL XPS8300 Intel I7 12GB / CPU3.40 / 64Bit windows 7. Are there any specific settings or configurations I need to do in order for this graphics card to work correctly on my computer. Any help would be very much appreciated thankyou.

yes, it may not be accepted by your system. It is worth replacing the card for another, if issue persists you may need to get a new motherboard, but with that you need to check the motherboard power connector and case size compatibility. Checking for correct chipset with CPU support is also essential.
on pre-built desktops, the companies tend to use custom parts and these sort of situations are becoming more 'common'. The card may be faulty, and if it is replace it, if the same thing happens again it is a compatibility issue. If you re-install your old card and it still works, it is nothing to do with the slot, or other hardware.

Hi. My old card is finnished. So the only option is to change this graphic card. However I am a little concerned with the compatability issue though. Would this mean that it will be difficult to install other graphic cards?.
