Hello, i previously had a GA 990FXA-UD3 rev4.0 with a sempron 145. Yesterday i bought an FX8320 but all i get after installing it is black screen, no bios or anything else. I have a 750w psu, kingmax 1600 ddr3 4gb and r9 280x dual x. Since i had the latest version of the bios from gigabyte website, F2, i tried flashing to a previous version, F1, still no success.
Please advise,

Thanks

What`s the golden rule when you swap out an old Cpu for a new one ?
Default the board back to its factory default settings.

Because it still retains all the old values and parameters , voltage settings, bus speed multplier settings. The new Microcode of the cpu needs to be read to set the parameters to work with the new cpu.
Also check you have you eight pin connected to the mobo from the psu.
Because you have gone from a low power cpu to a FX that can require up to 125w of power to the cpu socket when required via the eight. pin.
The existing settings stored are for the old cpu.

Give that a try.

Thanks for the answer. I forgot to tell that i`ve reset the bios by pulling out the battery and CMOS CLR, with the power off. Is there anyother way to restore those settings?

If you did that then its fine.

Like I said you have gone from a Sempron to an FX cpu so you need to check that from the PSU the eight pins are connected to the board, for extra power. If you do not connect it, then the mobo fails to fully power up because the FX cpu requires more power. So have a look inside the case

Top of the board looking at it just behing the gray heatsink block.
