This has many reasons:
-Open cmd and type ipconfig/flushdns Then Press enter
-Make sure the computer to which you have wifi has the correct physical address. check it with the computer to which you have a ethernet connected.
-Turn off firewall.
-Port forward to this port:
UDP Port 16000
-Press Win Key + R to open Run, type msconfig and press enter. Go to services, check Hide all Microsoft services. Now disable any services that updates.
-Stop downloading or browser while playing.

Have you tried checking your Firewall?
It could also be possible that your router is blocking the ports necessary to access your games. If you know how to port forward then you can look up the ports for your specific game server(s) and port forward them. It is very easy to port forward, merely look up how to do it with your router name.

If all else fails, call up your ISP and ask them for a new IP and have them come out and take a look. You might be able to change your IP your self. I was able to with "Linksys Smart Wifi"

Exactly... GameRanger needs UDP Port 16000 Goto Firewall settings>Application Rules>New Port>Set type as UDP and start and end port as 16000.
If you use some other game server check the ping VERY IMPORTANT try to keep it under 250 ms. Try to join a server with 3-6 free slots.
