I was trying to get help on flashing the bios on this board, but it seems someone decided to remove my thread right in the middle of getting help. Asus's website offers downloads for this bios, but no instructions. The process can be initiated when booting by pressing alt-f2, but then it looks for a file called A8N32SLI.ROM on a cd-rom or floppy. When renaming the rom from asus's site to that file name, it still says the file is not found. Could someone please provide step by step instructions that are accurate for upgrading this bios? Thanks.

Solution
Found the only way to update the bios was with the bios program, and not with the .rom file. The program is not compatible with windows 7, and so I had to install XP and run it from there. Ridiculous, but it is the only way that I could find that works.
I don't know for sure, but there might be restrictions here on offering help with BIOS flashing due to security concerns about inability to access locked systems and we can't help with that due to the possibility of a unit not belonging to somebody. Not that it relates to you or that it's even the reason, I'm just guessing at why your thread would have been removed by a moderator.

This thread, which offers no real conclusion, demonstrates the stupidity I am dealing with over here, http://www.gamespot.com/forums/pc-mac-discussion-1000004/asus-bios-update-with-ez-flash-1-altf2-question-28630395/

Just glad you were able to get it done and hopefully it solved your issues. Sorry I could be of more assistance but I was unsure regarding the guidelines. I'm going to actually check into the guidelines on this so I know in the future if it's permissible. Again, sorry.
