Computer dosent detect Ethernet cable

Okay so my computer worked perfectly fine threw out the years maybe 5 don't know but anyway my internet was working fine one night the next day I asked my dad why couldn't I get on the internet he forgot to plug my Ethernet cable back into the rogers router and when he plugged it back in and I tried to use the internet it was saying cable not plugged into network chords are plugged in new chord no green light or traffic flashing on the Ethernet port but it was working the befor he changed it for a newer one an for the life of my I don't what setting to do nor do I know a whole lot of computers so it was working fine the one night next day with a change of a new router it stopped working

Buy a new cord. If the new cord does not work it could be a problem with the hardware in your computer. I assume make sure you're using a CAT5e or 6 cable. You can also try to troubleshoot the ethernet on your computer
