nvidia crashed my pc

Hi, first time here i hope you can help. Yesterday my new gaming pc arrived. I had a guy assemble it for me, he tested it and everything was fine. When i unpacked it and tested it the trouble started: after an nvidia update, my graphics card crashes the pc after about 10 to 20 in a game/benchmark..

What i tried:
-deleting nvidia drivers and reinstalling the latest ones
-tried the card in another slot
-even installed a clean windows 7 (8 was on it first)

Still the same problem. It's easy to say the card is broken, but i want to rule out everything before going for the warranty.

Specs:
i7 4790k
GTX 780 ichill
Asus Z87-A
16gb ram
700w psu

Update: after installing windows 7, my card can't even be found.. I'm connected with hdmi, but display adapter is standard vga adapter it says..

Reinstall the latest drivers using GeForce Experience, on your current windows.
Make sure the GPU is in an environment of good air spacing.

How good is that PSU, the drivers might be demanding a new set of power regulations.

All parts were new. 700w is enough, the manual of the card suggests a minimum of 600w

Take out the card, and reseat it.
It could be loose pins.

Unfortunately not. I do have an old ati hd4850. Tried that one, also not recognized..

So at this point it may as well be a motherboard issue right?

Well did you install the drivers for that HD card -3-

You might have damaged the motherboard somehow.

I did install the amd drives yes. Ok, well you keep bringing up the psu, could that really be the whole problem? (Including not being able to see the card?)

An improper PSU can either:
Destroy the motherboard
Cause problems with certain components (like your card for example)
Die.
All of the above.

Well that would explain the sudden crash after a short graphics load.. But my guess is that its not the psu. I sent the card and motherboard back to where they came from. They will be tested and if they are faulty, i will get (a) new one(s).

If that doesnt solve it, i'm convinced it'll be the psu
