For the past week and a half my graphics card (Sapphire R9 270x) has stopped playing any games after 6 months with no faults. I'm trying to narrow down the cause of the crashes as it occurs on most of the games I play (graphically intensive games like Titanfall and BF4).
Game loads to menu screen and then crashes as soon as I get into the game. SimCity no longer loads at all (no launcher at all).
I have narrowed it down to 3 options: new catalyst drivers I installed last week have changed my settings (AMD Gaming Involved optimisations maybe?), the ambient temperature of the card being too high to start with being it's 37C most days during the summer according to the card or the card is faulty.
I'm going to try rolling back the drivers to see if that helps first and rule out that option.
CPU: AMD Bulldozer FX8120
