I recently baught a new geforce gtx 470 graphics card and my friend let me use his asus p5nt deluxe motherboard to put my graphics card on. When everything is hooked up including wires i power on my pc and a loud noise coming from my cpu fan and my monitor screen goes black.
I think its my power supply with not enough watts( my psu only has 300w) that is making this happening by not having enough power to the graphics card (i looked up the minimum psu watts and it says 550 to the graphics card) i am willing to buy a corsair 750w psu but this is the last problem i want.

Any ideas and suggestions?

Thanks!

psu is the fault.... im not an expert but 300w psu for a gpu tht needs 550w minimum is wrong.... best PSU is to go for Seasonic....

follow the link.... it show a Tier of PSU tht u should buy.... Buy from Tier 1 or 2 class a & b....

About ur CPU fan noise Give it a good cleaning with a brush.... no water.... when too much dust gets attached to the fan it make noise....

there are three types of psu a.k.a psu modular.... watch the video u ill understand....

also search jonnyguru.com for best 750w PSU.... or even u can go for a 700w psu....
