I have in mind two, maybe three options.

1; Buy 1 Gainward 770 Phantom 4gb and possibly SLI or Over Clock

2; Man up and spend more on a GTX 780 or 290 and stay on a single GPU

3; Deal with my assjunk GTX 570 and wait for 800 series to launch to snag a 780/780ti for less

I play on a single monitor, so yes 4gb is overkill, but i hear a lot of people saying that the 770 wont max new games. And i'm not sure if i feel like shelling out an extra 100 dollars for the 780.

4. Wait for the 800 series to release in October and buy one. They may actually be cheaper than the 780 ti if you believe the rumors. Either way the 860 is probably going to be an entry level version in the series released in late October after the 880/870.

Agggh, the builder in me doesn't want to wait til around October 2015. I'm getting the itch to build.
Would the 290 be a solid option for now?
Maybe say the Gigabyte R9 290 Windforce 4gb
Or even the Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC 4GB

Do you mean 2015 for the 20nm version?

Correct me if i am wrong(i most likely am) i thought the differences between the manufacture process was the energy efficiency mainly. Therefore, why would i be bothering with the 28nm process 800's?

Apparently the 20nm process could be used for energy efficiency or speed but not both, but this is not going to be 20nm so who knows what it will be geared towards?
