Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
Problem: Need to set up computer, periodically, to just run software that is associated with recording (music) for home studio. I need to minimize the amount of resources that my computer is using while I'm doing this project.
I am running the following software/hardware:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Cakewalk Sonar Studio 8.0 w/Assorted audio plugins.
M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 Soundcard w/breakout
NVidia GTX460 video card
8Gb RAM
Intel quad-core Q9300 2.5 GHz.
In order to avoid interference with other programs that I don't need while recording, I want to know the best way to set up a system that will only load what I need, but still allow me to exit and still be able to use the computer for internet and all the other stuff that I have (occasional games, etc.).
Would be interested to know anyone's take on this. Thanks again!
