Hello, I really need some help. I have recently build my first PC and everything seemed to be ok, but then it began restarting at random times, sometimes when watching youtube or twich, sometimes when playing specific games.

I stress tested the GPU and CPU, sometimes at the same time, nothing is overheating and nothing is crashing when I do this. Do you have any advice?

My Build:

CASE: Corsair Carbide Series 200R Compact ATX
MOBO: Gigabyte H87N-WIFI
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CXM 500W
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
GPU: Radeaon HD6870 (my old GPU)
RAM: G-Skill 8GB Ripjaws X DDR3 1600 (also my old RAM)

Thank you.

Case: Corsair Carbide Series 200R Compact ATX
Os: Win7

If I looked at the correct part:
12v: 12.096
5v: 5.100
3.3v: 3.304
Cpu temp: 51 C

Standart CPU cooler, it didnt seems to overheart during stres testing.
I dont think I had a big reason to put a K cpu on a H mobo, was that a bad thing?

One more thing, when the XMP is off is shuts down more often, I thought at first that its doing it because the CPU is getting over-clocked due to XMP, but apperantely it started to crash more once turned it off. The case is new so there is no dust.

XMP has a habit of overclocking the CPU as well, seen it on an i7 2600K and on the i5 4670K.

New info, I did the stres tests again. GPU did not go over 76 C. The CPU however acted differently this time (i used Prime95) First time with XMP on crashed at 99C, then at 87C, with XMP off crashed at 78C first time and 80C next time. With XMP on the temperature go higher before crashing, but they go up faster as well. Also if I try to choose CPU overclock profile form bios thats at 4.3Mhz, it doesnt load and blue screens immediately.

What do you mean "Blow out" as in clear out the dust? Its a new build so there's no crap inside, I have looked inside.
And CPU idle stays at 40-50C

I don't have constant access to the pc.

Reset your Bios and leave it like that, even without XMP for now.
Your mobo is not one that will help with overclocking, you needed a Z87 for that.

So, reset bios by removing the battery on the mobo, or applying the default settings directly in bios, play with your PC and report back.

40-50 isn't that hot, your CPU is safe into the low 60's.

It's probably your PSU.

PSU might be shutting down because it's too hot for too long, or being overdrawn for too long.

Cheap PSU's are often problematic; I've seen 100 forum posts with shutdown errors from a faulty or weak PSU.

Ok so. It's been a while. Vacation happened and I could not do anything. But I decided to at least post the fix for this issue.

It was RAM, it seems that they were in bad condition and as time went on it got worse, so when I put them into another pc it did not start at all.
Honestly an issue I could have fixed very fast, if I had decided to switch up the parts sooner.

Just came back from Vacation. It was RAM all along.
