I had the problem deciding between those exact 2 same cases 3 months ago.
I went with the NZXT H440 and haven't looked back since, it's a pure beauty to lookat, build in and game with.
Though I have to say I went with an NZXT X60 Kraken cpu cooler and replaced all the front case fans with Noctua NF-F12's to have optimal airflow. Running an oc'd I7 4770k to 4.2Ghz with an oc'd Asus GTX 770 in with idle temperatures of 32-38 C° and while playing crysis 3 the CPU hovers arround 55-60 C° and the GPU 60-70 C°.
I'm not saying the NZXT H440 is better in any way(well except looks but that's a nobrainer) than the fractal design R4, when I did my research to choose between them, they both seemed excellent quiet cases, though you might have to invest a little more in the nzxt h440 to have optimal airflow in it than the fractal but that's only a guess since I have no personal experience building in the fractal.
