My APU has always been giving me temp "high temps" ( IDLING AT 66C!!!) but i never crashed or blue screened, I was wondering why this was happening, since i have a Hyper 212 Evo. I also can't seem to change the fan speed. It doesn't even give me an RPM OF the CPU fan

More about : urgent apu hot hot hot

Well its sounds to me like you installed the cooler wrong or used none or way too much thermal paste.

It won't give you a fan speed unless it is attached to a mother board header and not a molex connection. If it is a motherboard header you should be able to go into the bios and set the fan speeds to variable or full on. What is reading 66C? Socket? Package? Cores? Northbridge? Mosfets?

Even if the hyper 212 had no fans at all it would still idle way under 66c. Something has to be installed wrong or your giving us the wrong temperature reading.

Im using the NZXT CAM software but it says the Cores are the hottest. I'm also using the motherboard header for the CPU fan.

Tell us what the bios says the cpu temp is that is the most reliable way to get a temp.

And there you go that software is garbage try HWmoniter it works the best for me. AMD CPU'S have notoriously bad temperature sensors only the bios will give you a somewhat accurate temp all of the time.

If it was not installed properly the heat would more than likely skyrocket and the computer would shut down. Maybe he didn't tighten the four screws down evenly or didn't apply the right amount if tim.
