My xbox 360 won't let me play minecraft

I have the disc to play minecraft, and whenever I go to play it on the xbox, a black screen comes up. Sometimes if I re-start, it works. But not usually.

I would install minecraft to the hard drive then. Is the disc scratched? If not then the eye that reads the disc inside the xbox might be covered in dust and cant read the disc correctly its a common problem with all game consoles.
