Hey, i bought an xbox 360 controller from a 3rd party which it's brand is not specified. When i got home to try it out on my pc, windows said it can't recognize the gamepad and i downloaded drivers for the controller but nothing ever changed. this is what it looks like http://imgur.com/lDBgSOf

Just like any xbox 360 controllers except the home button is just blank. and also whenever i plug it in via usb the green light lits up but nothing happens. thankful for any answers!

Solution
Not all controllers are compatible with windows the only way to be sure it will work is with a legit microsoft xbox 360 controller. I believe there's a list of compatible controllers somewhere ill try to find it for you.

not sure it will work in windows 7. but in windows 10 you can go to device manager find the controller as ether unrecognized device or the name of the company, then right click it and say update. from update it will ask you where to check for update. select "browse local computer for driver software" (on windows 10 xbox 360 driver comes standard windows 7 you must download the xbox 360 driver). choose "select from a list of installed drivers" scroll down to bottom and select "xbox 360 peripherals"
