I am looking to upgrade my Graphics Card from a Radeon HD 6850 to SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 280X 3GB. I want to know if my processor/ram is going to hinder the performance of the card. Thanks.

The rest of my specs are:
AMD 6-core FX-6300 3.5GHZ
8GB G-skill sniper RAM
500WATT psu
Windows 7
Asus M5A97 R2.0
Antec Three Hundred

You won't get as good of results using the 280x as you would with an fx8320/fx8350, but I wouldn't call it a true bottleneck. Buy your video card, buy an after market cpu cooler(Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo for about 30 dollars) and overclock that cpu. That'll give you the most performance for the least amount of money spent.

You'll do just fine with that setup, and if you decide to upgrade Cpu's down the road, or to just go with an Intel setup, you'll have a very respectable video card to go along with it.

Well, AMD has just said announce that there would be no bottlenecks while using 'Mantle' but i think it would be until they release the SDK.
The 6300 can handle a 280x but you have to O.C the card by a large margin and the bottleneck would depend upon the games you would be playing.
I don't know that the bottlenecks issues are'COMPLETELY' resolved now or not but i can tell this if it's not till date, then get a 280/270x.
