I'm going to install Windows on my computer but decided to check first BIOS. I have a Gigabyte H97-D3H and it's giving me these options:

Boot Option Priorities
Boot Option #1 ------------ P2/P0/UEFI
Boot Option #2
Boot Option #3

I'd like to know which one should I choose from P2, P0 or UEFI. A bit confused now with these options.

Thanks in advance.

wow if the manual you got with the board is like the one I downloaded gigabyte left you in the cold on that .. this is all it had to say on that and I never seen this on any of my bios's I'm stumped

Boot Option Priorities
Specifies the overall boot order from the available devices. Removable storage devices that support GPT
format will be prefixed with "UEFI:" string on the boot device list. To boot from an operating system that
supports GPT partitioning, select the device prefixed with "UEFI:" string.
Or if you want to install an operating system that supports GPT partitioning such as Windows 7 64-bit, select
the optical drive that contains the Windows 7 64-bit installation disk and is prefixed with "UEFI:" string.
first boot is your primary hard drive [windows] next can be optical drive and so on -- during a fresh install of windows from the disk you put the optical drive on 1st and it will boot the disk to start the install after windows is installed you go back and change it to 1st boot

That's what I'm familiar of. Optical drive, hard disk, usb are the options that I should get when doing fresh install. However, right now with the UEFI Dual BIOS my motherboard has, it's giving me P2, P0 and UEFI as options and now optical drive, hard disk, usb, etc... So which one should I be choosing from P2, P0 and UEFI? What's their difference?

Excuse the ignorance.

I'm not sure, but I think they all have different issues compared to mine.

I'm only doing a fresh install of Windows 8, so I'd like to know which option would be the best to choose? UEFI or regular P0, P1, etc...

Also, does P in P0, P1, etc means priority?
