I need help deciding whether to get the Nvidia Shield Portable or the Nvidia Shield 2.
Portable Pros:
- All in one (controller and screen)
- 200$
- Great Speakers
- Great Game Library
- 720p screen (could be pro or con)
Cons:
- Older processor
- Smaller Screen
- Not very portable
- No camera
Shield 2 Pros:
- Newer processor
- Larger screen
- Great Game Library
- Rear/Front facing cameras
- Full HD screen
Shield 2 cons:
- 300$
- 2 separate pieces (controller + tablet)
- IN order to have full experience, must buy controller and stand which adds on to price.
- So So speakers

I'm torn between the two, so which one would you get and which one is overall better for mobile gaming and a better value?

it's a personal preference really. I still prefer the shield Tablet since you can use it for not just gaming, but email, web browsing and productivity.

I've been hearing rumors that a shield portable 2 was in development, should I wait for that or should I get the tablet or portable now?

it's up to you, I don't know what kind of gaming you do so it's tough for me to make an assessment.

I play pretty much everything from battlefield 4 to portal. I also play indie games and racing games. On Android I mostly play games like modern combat, call of duty zombies, riptide gt, dead trigger, and asphalt 8.

Do you travel a ton, or rather game on the go a lot? If so then the portable version might be better.

I dont travel too much, but I move around a lot. I switch houses every couple of days and my desktop is at one house, so instead of lugging my gaming laptop around in a separate bag I could just throw one of these into my main bag and be off. I would be selling my laptop for one of these too.

I think the Shield Tablet would be better then.

Ok, I'll look into it, but out of curiosity why do you say the tablet?

I would of said portable but because you don't travel a lot then the tablet would be better because the larger screen size will offer a lot better gaming experience.
