Hello I have come here before to ask for help, and ask of yet no one anywhere has been able to help me solve this problem. So once more I come here to Toms hardware in my desperation to find some help. I hope someone has finally come along that can figure this out as I am at my wits end and have No idea what is wrong. Ill try to keep it brief.

I built a PC last summer just for gaming, it was more then capable of handling all games on ultra settings but when I played games like skyrim and even OBLIVION their would be stuttering in large areas like castles and stuff for NO REASON, I am also in the Archeage Beta at ultra settings and it worked perfectly up this spot where there was a HUGE tree with falling leaves and stuff and it stuttered alot every time I looked in its direction.. I thought it was something with my computer so I sold it and this time Bought one from Cyberpower PC and am experiencing the same problems once more. Is my luck that bad that I got 2 bad PC's???

Here are my current PC specs:

CPU: I7 4770k 3.5ghz 8M
HDD: 2TB SATA III 6gb/s 7200 RPM 64mb Cache 3.5" HD
SSD: 64GB Sandisk SATA III 6gb/s SSD
RAM: Adata XPG V2 16GB DDR3 1866mhz
abunch of cooling fans
CPU Fan: Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO gaming cooling fan
Case: ThermalTake Chaser MK-1 Full Tower
DVD Drive: Samsung 24x DVDRW
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-z87x-d3h Z87 SATA 6 USB 3.0
PSU: Corsair RM750 80 Plus 750w Fully Modular Power Supply
GPU: Superclocked EVGA Nvidia gtx 780 3gb GDDR5 PCI-e 3

add ons from cyberpower:
proffessional Cable Wiring
anti vibration fan mounts

hooked up with a High speed HDMI cable to my HD TV 60hz at 1360x768 Resolution

I can guarentee that it is not a virus, I take good care of my system and a virus is out of the question so please try to help me find the actualy problem. I don't know what other information I can give, but whatever you need I will tell you. It is very frustrating to me that I spent all my hard earned money on this computer and then it gives me problems like this that I can't even figure out after trying to the best of my ability.

I just don't get it though, I've asked on the mods main page if anyone else is experienceing these problems. NOBODY else is, its just me which is why I know its something on my end. Turning down the graphics shouldn't be necessary on a game from 2011. It just really frustrates me because I spent two months working out under the sun cutting grass, edging, changing light ballasts 8 hours a day to buy this PC. Now to be told that I have to turn the graphics down on a old game just to play it, well it is very crushing.

It's because the mods chew up a LOT of VRAM, especially with it maxed out. It's no surprise that you get a bit of stuttering while looking a something very graphically intensive.

I have no more advice to give, man. I promise you, your build is fine. Other people with the same mods probably wouldn't be playing on maxed out settings, or don't care about the slight stuttering that can occur sometimes.

Don't feel crushed. You have an amazing PC, and there is nothing wrong with it at all. :)
The fact that the same thing has happened on 2 different PC's only proves my point.

I can promise you on my life that your PC is perfect, and it's the intensive mods and maxed out settings that is causing the stuttering.

thanks..
Another thing I would like to point out though is that i dont use any graphically intense mods. All the mods I use (about 20) are gameplaymods that simply add spells, or home locations.

That's a lot of mods, dude. even if they don't add much to the graphics, it's still extra information your PC has to process. :)

You're welcome.

Think I found the problem. I just did the 3DMark benchmarking software and everything performed well EXCEPT my RAM.
which according to the report is running at half the speed it should be

"
Memory
16,384 MB
Module 1
8,192 MB A-Data Technology DDR3 @ 667 MHz
Module 2
8,192 MB A-Data Technology DDR3 @ 667 MHz"

How can I change this to its proper number 1866mhz?

Your RAM is dual channel, so those numbers mean it is running at 1333Mhz.
Go into your BIOS, and make sure the voltage and timings (latency) are set as rated by A-DATA for your kit.
Then go ahead and change the speed to 1866Mhz. :D
This will indeed help your lowest FPS, but probably not by much. It's a good idea to properly set up the RAM anyway. :)

Are you sure the RAM is rated for 1866MHz? I can't find it on their website.

I have no idea what voltages and and timings are for my RAM.
Also here is my 3Dmark results if you want to take a look

Those 3Dmark results show that there is nothing wrong with your build, as I suspected. :D
Make sure the RAM is running at 1.5v for the voltage, and don't worry about the timings for now. Just change the speed to 1866Mhz.
If it doesn't work, I'll help you determine what you need to do next. :)

Strangely enough when I entered the BIOS the Resolution was larger then normal and most of the settings were offscreen. No Idea why that is. I normally run at 1360 x 768
Also the RAM was already set to 1866mhz, I did the test again and it still says that each one is running at 667mhz though. Strange.

Lastly, I guess my Computer is not as strong as I thought. I thought spending all my earnings on it would get me a Super PC or something, It is very good and I am gratefull for it don't get me wrong, but I was hoping for alot more I guess. Probably overestimated its power because of it being my first gaming PC.

Very true, I think you overestimated the performance capabilities of your build. It's still an amazing PC though, much better than mine!

I hope I've helped you out man. :)
If you're satisfied with my responses, please select one of my answers as the solution so the thread will show up as solved. I would really appreciate it as I've spent a lot of time helping you out. Thank you!

If it's already set to 1866Mhz in the BIOS, you can't do anything else to change it. 3Dmark might be giving you an incorrect reading.
