my specs are as follows
intel core i3 2100@3.1ghz(with stock cooler)
intel DH67VR motherboard
seagate refurbished 500gb hdd
generic power supply
transcend 2x2gb ddr3 1333mhz ram
the problem is ,my computer often gets stuck after the BIOS splash screen ,i simply get a black after the BIOS screen appears and my computer never enters the windows boot.ieither have to restart the system or restart the system ,enter into the BIOS and manually select the boot device to the primary hard disk.
Things that i have tried to solve this problem are reinstalling the entire os (windows 7),performed memory diagnostic test and the reports were fine ,performed hard drive test through seagate seatools the software reported failure once when i performed a short dst test but after reinstalling the os ,i repeated the test and the results were fine also the intel's storage management software didn't report any hard disk problems,i tried changing the hard drive but still got the same problem and finally i updated the BIOS and changed the CMOS battery but all the attempts were just a failure.

the problem started to occur after i fitted my old 9500gt card to play nfs most wanted on the system .after i inserted the card the system reported no boot drive so i manually set the boot options to the primary hard drive and from then even after removing the card ,re-installing the windows ,updating the drivers did not solve the problem.what might be the problem ?the motherboard or the psu?

Solution
That kind of issue points to a SATA connection problem, either the SATA port in your motherboard or the SATA connector in your HDD, try connecting it to a different SATA port in your motherboard (would be too much a coincidence if another port is also malfunctioning).

As for the PSU, you could try to boot with a live cd of ubuntu without the HDD connected, if your pc doesn't freeze for at least 30min then it's not the PSU, still, generic ones are usually a gamble, try to get a better one when budget allows it.

changed the sata cable but still the computer freezes ,the intel rapid storage management reports that the sata drive is removed sometimes and immediately reports plugged in and then the computer totally freezes.could this be a motherboard problem or power supply problem?
