Hello there,

I have my old Kingston Value RAM pair (link to the 8GB sticks, but I have the 4GB ones):

http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-ValueRAM-KVR1333D3N9-8G/dp/B0069RXHF8/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1407012257&sr=8-6&keywords=KVR1333D3N9%2F4G

and a pair of HyperX Blu:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004DDI0IE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They have the same specs, as far as I can see, but the HyperX uses this module for "faster latency timing and more performance", according to the description on Amazon. Question is, can I use both pairs in my desktop together, or are they not compatible, although they share the same specs, aside from the HyperX module? 16 GB of RAM would be pretty sweet, but I don't want to risk trying them out together and blowing something up.

Thank you in advance!

Mixing DRAM can be and often is problematic, no guarantees they will play together. As long as you have the sticks though give them a try, even if they won't work straight out, can often make minor voltage/timing adjustments to get them to play - if any problems give me a shout

Yes it will work. You can mix ram brands, frequencies, cas timings, and sometimes size depending on your mobo. Only make sure you match ram frequencies for the sake of wasting money. Different frequencies will automatically run at the slowest frequency e.i. 1600MHz and 1333MHz would run at 1333MHz.

Thanks a lot, both run at the same frequency and specs though, so it should not be any problem at all? Can I get a second opinion from someone? Just to make sure haha.

I have both pairs from two different systems, I bought them a while ago, so buying a new kit isn't in my plans. I have an Asus P8H77 motherboard and an Intel i7 3370 CPU:
