I've had problems with the R9 270x..had to RMA 3 back to back due to different reasons. I have little faith in AMD after all that. I am thinking about Nvidia mainly the GTX 760 it is a nice upgrade from the 270x...but I am also thinking of the 280. They are both around the same price and it seems the 280 is better than the 760. Here is my thing, I am worried about AMD crapping out on me again and the power limit. The Evga GTX I am looking at needs around 500W and the Gigabyte needs around 600W...I have a 650W 80+ bronze psu from Rosewill. Which one should I get...will my psu be able to handle the 280?

for $175 this is a no brainer.... get the gtx760.... and yes your power supply is more than enough.

those graphics cards your looking at dont need 500w/600w... that is just a guideline for whole system power. knowing how many amps are on the 12v rail of your power supply is what you need to know.... and your rosewill has at least 46-52amps on its 12v rail which is much more than you need. graphics card in reality only draw 350 watts at the most out the box.... though some (780ti) with extreme volt mods and overclocks can draw as high as 500w(world record territory).

True it's not much of an upgrade but because of all the problems I had with the 270x I didn't really get to play on it much. So I'm actually upgrading from an HD 7770
