So, my new pc that i built about 2 weeks ago has recently started having in game lag spikes, ill be walking and everything will just lag for a second and then stop, my fps is fine. like 80 fps. but yet it will lag spike, i checked to see if it was internet, so i disconnected from internet, and tried offline mode in cs go, and still lag spiked. i have tried a ton of solutions that didnt work, such as reinstalling updates for the drivers, checking my taskbar for any thing taking up cpu usage, checking pc temp, etc. and everything is fine. idk what is causing the lag, and its getting on my nerves pretty damn badly. Im not sure what all specs i need to put here, But my graphics card is a Radeon R7 200 series, my cpu is a fx-4130 quad core processor, win 7 64 bit. 8 gb of ram also it does this for every game i play, cs go, tf2, gmod, chivalry. etc

Hi i too used too have lag spikes until i upgraded my pc a bit the thing is you should try blowing out the dust from your computer dust is a killer for a computer it can mess with you in a lot of ways so basically get a fan and slowly blow out the dust since it may be stuck on your components and they are not working properly if this doesn't help im not the right guy for the job .

Good luck :)  .

Well, it may be that, because whoever made the tower decided to put holes in the top of it haha, and my room somehow gets dusty insanely fast. so i guess ill have to dust my pc every week :p

GPUz will tell you all the information, hoping it is not a r7 240 ddr3 card

It identifies the make model ,ram, core clock and memory clock of your gpu

The only thing i saw was gpu clock and default clock, the gpu clock is 1188 mhz, with a memory of 1625 mhz, and the default is the same thing

last thing above the core clock is memory type and size along with bus width and bandwidth give me those 4 numbers

I dont know what that is so prolly not, and the reso of the game or reso of the whole screen in general? But the thing is it didnt do that for the first 2 weeks i had it at all, it ran perfect.

Did you install the cooler yourself ? Turbo core is amd's way of clocking up/down the cpu depending on demand it can cause the that irritating spike or pause.

Turbo core is on by default unless you go into the bios to change it. Check you cpu temps in a program like amd AOD or hardware monitor but yes the gpu is weak but it shold not have spike leading me to believe it is a heat or throttling issue

When i play games the gpu temp sits around like 40-45 c and when its idle its around 32-35 c but like i said it worked fine the first few weeks with the exact same temp through the whole time

Anistropic filtering = Off
Anti-Aliasing = Off
Lower your resolution

And as i said try blowing the dust out off it every 2 weeks

Good luck friend

Install the driver that came with you gpu and see if that fixes it. A 2 week old pc should not need the dust bunnies cleaned out unless you live in a zoo

yes it would be on a cd or dvd, many times the gpu needs a dll that is not in amd's ccc panel drivers.
