I/O Shield trouble

I can never seem to get the darn thing to go in right. I've had 2 cases so far and both times I haven't been able to use it. I don't exactly know how to put it in (i'm guessing you push it outwards from the inside, but when I do that the motherboard won't align properly). If I do it from the outside, it doesn't fit. I know this might be a wierd issue but if anyone knows how to put these things in, please let me know. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong category but I didn't see any misc. category so I figured this would fit it best.

I've gotten it in the case part but it seems to bend backwards. I have to take my motherboard out to put it in so I guess i'll give it another go tommorow.

+1 - That's as simple as it's always been for me, unless of course you're trying to install the I/O shield for a different form factor in the case. Might have some issues then.

Nope it's an ATX I/O Shield for an ATX case that came with my ATX Board.. I just always have trouble aligning the ports. It seems to bend backwards everytime I fit it in which makes it impossible to leave on. However, it's not bent when I take it out, so it doesn't make any sense. Guess I'll just try tommorow. It's such a pita because those screws that go into the standoffs almost never want to go in correctly.. but thats just a bunch of off topic junk so dont worry about it. Thanks everyone :p

Sometimes, depending on if it was an OEM case or an aftermarket one, there are little tabs left attached to the metal of the case from when the OE I/O was removed. If yours in an OE case you might have to clip them off.
