HDD not recognized in disk managment...

My SDD works perfectly fine and has Windows 8.1 on but my new HDD will not be recognized in disk management. I can see the HDD in BIOS and in device manager. I've been trying to allocate the drive in disk management but it isn't even there. Any ideas?

sounds like there is not a drive letter assigned to the drive.

maybe try:
windows key +r
then run
diskmgmt.msc
find the drive, then change / assign drive letter
and see if you can see your data/drive
